Sandstorm in Saudi Arabia

While living in Saudi Arabia, I have encountered a natural phenomenon several times which I never experienced before. People living in middle east are quite familiar with it. Yup, sand storms – which are quite common here and could be as frequent as once in a month.

Visiting Qatar from Saudi Arabia by Road

An added benefit of living in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia is that one can visit other nearby GCC countries by road. Most of these states offer visit visa on arrival to GCC residents of certain professions. During my stay in Khobar (Saudi Arabia), I have visited Bahrain several times as it’s just at an hour drive from my current city. You can read more about my Bahrain experiences by clicking here. However, Qatar is relatively far from Khobar.

Drive Along Kingdom’s Eastern Region Beaches

Previously I posted about Drive Along Jeddah Corniche. Now, when I have moved to Khobar in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, drive along Eastern Region beaches was a must. There are three notable beaches in Eastern region namely Khobar corniche, Dammam corniche and Jubail corniche. Although there is one more known as Half Moon Bay but I would consider as  separate one as it’s relatively away from metropolitan.

Drive Along Jeddah Corniche

Drive or walk along Jeddah corniche is a must do thing if one is visiting this splendid old city of Saudi Arabia. Jeddah is the second largest city in the kingdom. It has reasonably long coastal strip along red sea and it attracts a huge number of visitors and local residents specially on weekends.

Mersal Village in Jeddah – Largest Theme Park in Kingdom

My quest for family entertainment activity led me to so-called largest theme park in kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Jungle Land in Mersal Village Northeast of Jeddah. After some web search, I found out the location of this theme park was a bit odd at outskirts of main city. Thanks to Nokia free navigation app, we reached there without much hassle.
